Australia skipper Pat Cummins was left smiling after his son briefly interrupted his post-match conference in Sydney. Australia defeated India by six wickets in the final Test in Sydney to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after a decade. Speaking about the monumental triumph, Cummins experienced a rather wholesome moment in the press conference.

While the Australian captain was interacting with the media, he was briefly interrupted by his son, Albie. The interruption, however, resulted in a wide grin on the Australian skipper’s face.

CODE Cricket later shared a clip of the adorable moment on X (formerly Twitter). “Too cute! Pat Cummins’ son Albie made an adorable interruption to his post-play press conference,” the post read.

Pat Cummins’ wife, Becky, and their son were present at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday. After the match was over, the Australia skipper reshared his wife’s Instagram story in which Albie could be seen clapping hands for his father during the trophy presentation. “What a win, what a day,” Becky wrote.

The Sydney Test came to an early close on Sunday after a brilliant display of cricket from Australia. They curbed a struggling India side to 157 in the second innings. During the chase, Travis Head and Beau Webster played unbeaten knocks to help Australia secure a comfortable win. Cummins was quite impressed with Webster’s performance in the final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Once he resumed the press conference, the Australia skipper went on to praise the debuting all-rounder. “Beau was huge in this Test. He’s one of those quintessential all-rounders, who you feel will contribute in every facet of the game, and he proved that in this Test match,” Cummins said, as per multiple outlets.

Pat Cummins has now added another feather to his cap ahead of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Since donning the skipper role in Test cricket, Cummins has led Australia to 2021-22 Ashes triumph, 2021-23 World Test Championship glory and the 2024/25 Border-Gavaskar crown. He will now have his sights set on lifting his second WTC crown as the team’s skipper in the summer of 2025.
