US stocks today: US stocks open lower as chip rout extends
Wall Street’s main indexes opened lower on Friday, with a reassessment of this year’s AI-fueled rally by investors deepening a selloff in chip stocks and a weak forecast from Netflix adding to the pressure.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 423.40 points, or 0.81%, to 52,129.57. The S&P 500 declined 98.66 points, or 1.31%, to 7,435.11, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 560.17 points, or 2.16%, to 25,321.78.
