Indian equity benchmarks snapped a seven-session losing streak on Thursday, August 20, with the NSE Nifty50 ending 153.55 points, or 0.64%, higher at 24,231.85, as buying emerged across sectors.

The rebound came after the recent decline, with the market finding support at lower levels. From a technical perspective, the Nifty reclaimed its 50-day exponential moving average (50-EMA), while the hourly RSI saw a bullish crossover, according to Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst at LKP Securities.

“Overall, the short-term sentiment looks positive,” De said. Resistance for the index is seen at 24,350-24,500, while support is placed at 24,150.

Against this backdrop, shares of Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL), Hindustan Aeronautics, RailTel Corporation of India, Saatvik Green Energy, Samvardhana Motherson International and several other companies are likely to remain in focus following corporate developments.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation

BPCL said its wholly owned subsidiary Bharat PetroResources Ltd (BPRL), through its step-down subsidiaries, holds a 100% equity stake in IBV Brasil Petróleo Limitada (IBV).


IBV has changed its corporate name to BPRL Brasil Limitada in accordance with applicable laws in Brazil. BPCL said it received a copy of the certificate on August 19.

Hindustan Aeronautics

Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) said Infotech HAL Ltd, its joint venture in which the company held a 50% stake, has been dissolved by the NCLT, Bengaluru Bench. The order was dated August 17 and was received by the company on Thursday.

RailTel Corporation of India

RailTel Corporation of India has received a work order worth Rs 164.79 crore, including taxes, from Western Coalfields Ltd.

Niva Bupa Health Insurance

Niva Bupa Health Insurance Company said ICRA has reaffirmed its issuer rating at [ICRA]AAA (Stable). The rating agency has also assigned an [ICRA]AA+ (Stable) rating to the proposed subordinated debt of up to Rs 500 crore, to be raised through listed, rated, unsecured, subordinated, redeemable non-convertible debentures.

Saatvik Green Energy

Saatvik Green Energy said its material subsidiary, Saatvik Solar Industries Pvt Ltd, has received and accepted an order worth Rs 190 crore from an independent power producer/EPC player for the supply of solar PV modules.

Samvardhana Motherson International

Samvardhana Motherson International said a new joint venture company, MHSCL JVC Holding Ltd, was incorporated in Dubai on August 19. The development follows the joint venture agreement signed with Hellmann Worldwide Logistics (MESA) Holding Ltd in March 2026 for setting up a joint venture in Dubai.

Manipal Health Enterprises

Manipal Health Enterprises reported a 7.7% year-on-year decline in net profit to Rs 231 crore for the quarter, compared with Rs 250 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue rose 38.1% year-on-year to Rs 3,091 crore from Rs 2,238 crore, while EBITDA increased 25.6% to Rs 736.5 crore from Rs 586.5 crore.

EBITDA margin stood at 23.8%, compared with 26.2% in the year-ago period.

Paradeep Phosphates

Paradeep Phosphates announced the launch of JAI KISAAN NAVRATNA CROPFIT, a customised fertiliser formulated for sugarcane cultivation in Karnataka.

Baazar Style Retail

Baazar Style Retail said Richa Manoj Goyal and Prashant Singhania have resigned as non-executive independent directors of the company. Their resignations are effective August 20. Following the resignations, Goyal will also cease to be chairperson of the Stakeholders and Relationship Committee, while Singhania will cease to be a member of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and Corporate Social Responsibility Committee.

Walchandnagar Industries

Walchandnagar Industries said it received an order from Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre on August 19 for the fabrication, proof-pressure testing and supply of HS200 motorcase segments for the Gaganyaan programme.
