Madhuri Dixit Nene makes a case for zardozi and gotta patti embroidery in a kurta set
Madhuri Dixit Nene makes a strong case for statement pinks, stepping out in a fuchsia kurta set by Mumbai-based designer label Lajjoo C. Her look embraces the season’s boldest shades, proving that pink can be as festive as maroons and reds.
At the core of the ensemble is a straight-cut silk tunic in a hot pink hue. The plunging V-shaped neckline framed with gold zardozi and traditional gotta patti embroidery is the highlight of the piece. Delicate gold threadwork buttis are scattered across the kurta, while the sleeves and the hem are finished with matching embroidered borders on the cuffs.
The matching straight-leg silk trousers add a chic ‘executive’ slant to the look while continuing to keep its festive appeal intact. She layered the set with a sheer organza dupatta with fine gold lace trimming and metallic beads. Styled by Disha C Punjabi, the look was accessorised with kundan-style chandbalis featuring emerald studs and pearl drops, paired with a delicate diamond tennis bracelet and a floral cocktail ring. On her feet were nude pointed-toe pumps from Christian Louboutin.
Her beauty choices complemented the pink palette. Billy Manik gave her rosy cheeks, a muted pink lip and a red bindi, while Sheettal F Khan styled her hair in loose side-parted waves.
It can be observed that Dixit Nene rarely skips an occasion to wear the colour pink—especially during the festive season. From pastel shades to vibrant fuchsia, the actor has time and again returned to the hue. Worn across saris, lehengas and kurta sets, the colour has become one of the constants in her wardrobe. Think the fuchsia Punit Balana sharara in 2021 and more recently, a pink Anita Dongre sari.
