Hindustan Zinc Q1 Results: Net profit spikes 145% YoY to Rs 5,469 crore, revenue jumps 77%
The Vedanta Group company’s revenue from operations, meanwhile, rose around 77% YoY to Rs 13,747 crore during the quarter under review, from Rs 7,771 crore reported in the same period last year. Its total expenses increased over 33% YoY to Rs 6,749 crore during the quarter, which ended on June 30, 2026.
On a sequential basis, Hindustan Zinc’s net profit increased nearly 9% from Rs 5,033 crore reported in Q4 FY26. Revenue from operations grew around 1.5% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) while total expenses decreased nearly 5% QoQ.
Hindustan Zinc’s silver business saw a whopping 169% YoY surge in revenue to Rs 3,839 crore in Q1 FY27 from Rs 1,426 crore in the year-ago period, although it fell 5% QoQ. Zinc, lead and others meanwhile saw 50% YoY and 5% QoQ rise in revenue to Rs 9,146 crore.
The Vedanta Group company’s net profit margin improved to 40% in the April-June quarter of FY27, from 37% in the previous quarter (Q4 FY26) and 29% in the year-ago period (Q1 FY26). Operating margin, meanwhile, increased to 52% during the quarter under review.
The metal major’s net worth also more than doubled on a YoY basis, rising around 108% to Rs 23,587 crore at the end of the June quarter of the ongoing financial year 2027. Its debt-to-equity ratio stood at 0.32 times, as against 1.19 times in Q1 FY26.
Hindustan Zinc’s board, during its meeting held today, considered and noted the administrative warning letter issued by market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) back in April. “Upon review, the committee and the board noted that the identified non-compliances were inadvertent in nature and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance and regulatory compliance,” the company said.Hindustan Zinc share price
Hindustan Zinc shares traded with marginal losses at Rs 530 apiece after the release of the results on Friday afternoon. The shares of the company gained over 2% in one week but fell more than 2% in one month and 13% in 2026 so far amid a sharp correction in silver prices.
In the longer term, Hindustan Zinc shares have delivered 19% returns over one year, 68% over three years and 62% in five years. The company has a market capitalisation of nearly Rs 2.24 lakh crore.
