Karan Johar’s reality show, The Traitors Season 2, has finally begun. The first three episodes have been packed with drama, heated moments and plenty of fun that has made its way onto the internet. One such moment came when Shalini Passi forgot Munawar Faruqui‘s name and called him by a different name. The internet can’t stop laughing at the hilarious mix-up.
Shalini Passi forgets Munawar Faruqui’s name
The moment unfolded during the contestants’ introductions in the premiere episode. Munawar approached Shalini and told her that he could not meet her properly, before asking how she was. Shalini thanked him and asked his name. When Munawar introduced himself, she misheard his name as “Munawar Falguni” and asked him what he does and whether he is a singer.
Munawar then told her that he is a stand-up comedian and also works as an actor and writer. Later, while talking about the contestants in her video, Shalini said, “80-85% contestants in the palace know me and Man, man, Manya what’s his name? Jo comedian hai na, Maanyavar, kya naam hai unka?”
Many internet users shared the clip on Instagram, and the mix-up has The Traitors fans in splits. One fan commented, “She thought his surname is Falguni so he could be a singer.” Another wrote, “comedian ke saath comedy hogyi (The comedian himself became the subject of a comedy).” Another comment read, “I have never laughed so hard.” An Instagram user also wrote, “Gajab bejati hai (What an epic embarrassment).”
Meanwhile, Munawar has been eliminated from the show. In the first circle of shaq, Munawar recieved the highest number of votes, pointing him out as a Traitor. This led to his elimination. As he was one of the innocents and the real traitors were Kullu, Krystle D’Souza, and Harman Singha, Munawar lashed out at the contestants before he left the show.
The comedian said, “I had expected this to happen to me. I knew I would have to face it. This often happens to me. It is not the first time. This is not the first time that I have been targeted. Call me a soft target or someone too good to be there. I can clearly see through the insecurities of other people, and you will see how you end up looking. Because your insecurities will be visible. You approached me as a friend and heard me out, but now you wrote my name here. Thank you for that.”
