RBI withdraws $5.2 billion via first net open market debt sale in 9 years



The Reserve Bank of India has absorbed cash from the banking system equivalent to nearly 0.2% of total deposits through bond sales, the central bank said on Thursday.The RBI accepted bids worth an aggregate of 500 billion rupees ($5.21 billion) and sold papers maturing from fiscal 2029 to fiscal 2032, under an auction-based open market sale, which was its first net sale since November 2017.
