MCX traders complain of commodity position prices not reflecting on Zerodha, broker blames delay in exchange reports

Zerodha responded to several users on X complaining about issues related to their MCX commodity positions on the Kite app on Friday, with the brokerage platform saying that this is being caused by a delay in receiving reports from the exchange.

Many users complained the average price for their positions for commodities like gold, silver, crude oil and more on MCX appeared as ‘NA/O’ on the Kite app. “Silver and gold contract purchase price is not being seen in the account today. whats the issue?” wrote one user. Many shared screenshots showing the average prices of their commodity positions for gold, silver, oil and other items appearing as zero.

Zerodha responded to several such posts, saying, “The average price for your MCX commodity positions may show as “NA/0” on Kite due to a delay in receiving reports from the exchange. We’re in touch with the exchange to resolve this at the earliest.”

Traders expressed dissent about the alleged glitch during trading hours. “It appears like MCX India has delayed transferring reports to different brokers. Now this messes up my calculation of Risk Management as my P&L is incorrect,” wrote an X user under the name Arpan. Tagging market regulator Sebi, he said MCX should be penalized here. “What is the TAT? Why is this getting breached? I have observed this happening multiple times with MCX,” he wrote.
“Is it some kind of a joke.. it 9:50 am… Mcx position not updating, International markets active. why MCX is down for over 50+ minutes and can’t be traded in zerodha??,” wrote trader Pravin Khetan in a post on X.
