Janhvi Kapoor’s rich Patan patola sari is embroidered with intricate ek-taar mochi work
For the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at Antilia, the Ambani family’s residence in South Mumbai’s Cumballa Hill neighbourhood, Janhvi Kapoor chose the more is more aesthetic while styling herself in a vibrant double ikat or Patan patola sari by Mumbai-based designer Nidhi Tambi Kejriwal.
The sari, a heritage weave from Gujarat, featured a deep blue base with floral, paisley and geometric motifs in vibrant shades of pink, red, orange and green. Its borders carried the same densely-packed designs as the lehenga. The sari combined the geometric precision of the weave with intricate ek-taar mochi work, ek-taar resham embroidery and aabla tiki detailing. The round-neck, short-sleeved blouse mirrored the sari’s patola weave, with fine fringed thread tassels lining the sleeve hems.
For jewellery, stylist Meagan Concessio chose an elaborate mix of traditional pieces. Kapoor wore a maang tikka from Golecha Jewels, chandbalis from Aren Jewellers and layered bangles from Aren Jewellers, Golecha Jewels, The Rah Jewels and Neety Singh Jewellery. Statement rings from Aren Jewellers were added to the stack, while the mix of gold, pink and green jewels leaned into the Patola’s maximalist appeal.
Kapoor wore her hair in a middle parting, leaving it open in loose waves. Makeup artist Savlee Manchanda went all pink to complement the sari, with rosy cheeks, a nude-pink lip and a small red bindi.
While this may be Janhvi Kapoor’s first documented outing in Nidhi Tambi Kejriwal, the actor is no stranger to maximalist Indianwear. For her sister Anshula Kapoor’s wedding reception in July 2026, she wore a custom lavender Manish Malhotra Banarasi silk sari. In November 2025, she embraced the aesthetic again in a cobalt-blue Patola lehenga by Jigya Patel for wedding festivities.
