Sobhita Dhulipala’s Arpita Mehta sari comes with a blouse trimmed with beaded tassels
Sobhita Dhulipala has always had a way of making occasionwear feel inherently hers. For a wedding celebration, she turned to Arpita Mehta‘s Sindoori and Rose Gold hand-embroidered tiered sari set with cutdana and mirror work, letting the vivid orange-red hue be in the spotlight.
The sari, cut from a lightweight georgette fabric, fell in tiers that gave the drape movement, while silver motifs were scattered across the surface. Along the borders, floral embroidery in rose gold and silver added another layer of detail against the saturated base.
The sweetheart-neckline, short-sleeved blouse came with embroidered flower-like motifs and finished with beaded orange tassels along the edge. At the back, the deep U-back blouse was held together with a tasselled dori.
For jewellery, she wore chained jhumkas with green and pink gemstones, featuring geometric patterns and small white pearls and paired them with two broad bracelets–one set with clear stones and the other with emerald-green and clear stones. She also added an ear cuff on her left ear.
Dhulipala’s hair was pulled into a neat bun, while her makeup featured her signature kohl-rimmed eyes, flushed cheeks and a muted brown lip.
The actor has worn everything from heavily embellished saris to sharply cut lehengas, often adding an unexpected blouse or a statement piece of jewellery into the mix. Here, the bright colour, tiers of fabric and open back gave the sari plenty of personality, while the pops of green and pink in her jewellery brought another hint of colour to the look.
From Vogue‘s fashion desk:
“Add a stack of multicolor glass bangles to give the look a point of contrast–think jade green, rani pink and a bit of yellow,” says Manglien Gangte, Vogue India fashion associate.
